Hello from the first Thursday post of the (hopefully) revived blog. Well...reviving. It's not quite alive again yet, but I have hope.
I don't know what to say first. There's been so much in the past year. We left off blogging at a really exciting time: we were about to head off on our Great American Road Trip. Beginning in BG, we (Jill, Sara, Amy, Rachael, and I) took Sanaa as far as St. Louis, where we got to go to the zoo and play at the city museum. Then, after saying goodbye to Sanaa, we headed west: driving through the eternity that is Kansas, rafting in Colorado, camping in the Grand Canyon, thrill-seeking at Disneyland, and riding an elevator with John Green at VidCon! It was an amazing journey, and it was...almost a year ago. So then what?
Then, many of us completed our senior year of university (I always try to say 'university' now instead of 'college,' because 'college' is like high school in the UK. Yes, I want to be British. It's me, remember?). During senior year, we had all kinds of adventures. Jill and I fulfilled our dream of (somewhat)randomly driving to Canada when we spent Fall Break in Toronto. I worked with the film department at my university to orchestrate our annual film festival (and got paid for hanging out with awesome filmmakers and getting delicious free meals). I finally finished my undergraduate thesis project, which was a collection of original short stories. I'm sure I did other things, but those are the ones that stick out in my mind.
After graduation, Jill and I took off for Europe! We spent two weeks exploring Paris, London, and fantastic places all over southern England. We even finished it off by standing on a West End stage our last night in London. It was remarkable! Then, when we got back to the States, we took a little detour to South Carolina to see one last play before heading back home to Kentucky.
And...I think that pretty much catches me up to where I am now: back home in my room, writing this blog post, unsure of what the future holds. I might have the prospect of a certain job this summer that I interviewed for back in May, and I may have a little something else up my sleeve, but I'll keep those things hush-hush for now. Hopefully I'll have some good news to share with you soon. ;)
