So it's just past 11pm and I'm sitting here next to an almost full suitcase. I leave for New York City in roughly 12 hours where I will be interning for the next couple months. I'm typing this out on my phone because my laptop is already packed, but I just wanted to take a few minutes to try to evaluate how I'm feeling, what my goals and fears are.
First, how I'm feeling.
I want to say no one emotion is screaming out, but I'm definitely stressing. Stressing that I'm packing all the right things, not forgetting anything important, that the wine bottle/my laptop/fencing gear will survive the journey. Should I bring this or that? Ugh!
I'm a worrier. It may not look it because I keep a calm appearence (that's me trying I tell myself that everything is in control), but I keep going over things in my head over and over..just in case I'm forgetting something.
Other feelings? Excitement, of course, I'm already planning my New York Trip music video after I get back and the video shots I want to include. Nervous? Maybe a little--I hope my living situation simply comes together nicely.
Moving on: my goals.
This one is more simple. I hope that I have the experience/skills to take on this job, but also be able to learn a lot more. I hope that this experience doesn't make me hate the fashion industry, but instead adds fuel to my passion.
Fears?
I hope I'm not too afraid to try things--even if it means going to places/doing things alone. You guys know I hate doing anything alone. But I hope it doesn't stop my from waking through Central Park, going to the Zoo (though Sanaa gave me the idea to take the girls there), going to some sort of fencing place, Chinatown, Statue of Liberty, etc. And you know, getting mugged and stuff.
Now that I rambled, I'm going to try to sleep, because I have a trip tomorrow! :)
