Do you know what those sounds are? That is the NCAA men’s basketball key ditty that plays repeatedly on the CBS network. Want to know why it’s in my head so much these days? It’s not just because I’m watching all of the games (which I am.) It’s not just because it’s one of the most recognizable sound combinations in all of college sports. It’s because of this:

I’ll be in the next to last row on the second tier of seats at Nationwide Arena, but no worries- I’ll be the loudest, most vibrant, and most excited one there! I’ve got all of my fan gear for the matchups: Maryland vs West Virginia and Oklahoma vs Dayton. As you can tell, I may or may not have decided who I will be supporting in the Maryland/WV game (or the Oklahoma vs Dayton game... I mean, who doesn't love the underdog practically at home there?). I had to order my shirts last Sunday night in the hopes they’d make it here in time without knowing who would be playing! They all made it though, and I have a couple of great problems to have now.
I’ve been looking forward to going to the NCAA tournament pretty much my entire life. I can’t even remember a time when I didn’t watch college basketball on tv. I’ve never been to a full game live except my games at UK and Vandy- which, while they were excellent basketball, I didn’t exactly have a seat. I had to stand all game, lol. Though I have a feeling I’ll be doing that here too! :)
Wish my mom and I luck as we brave the crowds! If you happen to be watching, and they pan the cameras really, really high up, squint as you see us wave at you! ;)

PS- Enjoy a song I actually picked up from watching basketball last week on ESPN- yes, really. ;) I know it seems like the farthest style from sports, but they make it work pretty well!
