So far I have opened 2 or my little blue envelopes. The one entitled "Open in the presence of Tim-Tams" said to enjoy my snack (which I did) and to try a new candy bar.So the next time I went to Pak n' Save (one of their versions of Wal-Mart, along with New World and Countdown), I bought myself a Moro gold. I'm not sure if they have these in the States, but because I've never tried one, I figured it counted. Plus the tag line at the bottom says, "That's how you do it in smooth pants!"--and yes, I miss you guys, too!
The next envelope I opened was the one that said "Open the day before classes start." This one may take a little while to accomplish because I don't want to spend $6 on a jar of Vegemite.
Talking about classes, my schedule is REALLY weird. I have 2 8am classes, on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 2 night labs, also on Tuesday and Thursday (6-9pm). After that, it gets tricky.
Mondays: Bio of Animals, 9am
Tuesday: Physics, 8am
History of Witchcraft and Magic. 11am-1pm
Bio Lab, 6-9pm
Wednesday: NO CLASS!
Thurday: Physics, 8am
Practical Ethics, 11am-1pm
Bio of Animals, 1-2pm (they put 10 minutes travel time within, so this class actually lets out at 1:50, etc,)
Physics Lab, 6-9pm
Friday: Bio of Animals, 11am-12pm
Physics, 1-2pm
In the past couple of weeks I have also...
-Gone to a motorbike show, it was free in The Square
-Gotten lost twice on the first day of class
-Eaten pancakes, the Centre (kind of like the BCM) provides us with free pancakes every Wednesday
-Had a potluck with my residence hall, though it doesn't feel like a hall, more like a mini-apartment complex
-Did various team-building activities during the Let's Get Going Program (like our Master Plan), in the rain. Activities like tug-of-war, a bouncy obstacle course, tire flipping, and tag rugby.
-Drank my first beer...Betsy and Tom just stared at me for a while when I told them.
-Made plans to go road- tripping during our Semester break (2 weeks!) all around the South Island
