Being sick and important news

Hello from Narnia! I think I can officially say that now that I've been to at least one filming location of one of the movies. As Sara said in yesterday's blog, it's finally May! But instead of Spring, we've just had our first couple of cold days--I had to break out my coat-sweater thing and wear my hat today. May also marks that I'm over the"hump" now that my last 2 months in New Zealand are here.
Nothing much has happened in the last couple of weeks--just getting back to schedule after a really long break. I did get sick though, just a cold, but it gave me the nastiest sore throat I have ever had. I even went to the doctor to see if they could do something. They couldn't :( But she did give me good direction where I could find some throat spray to help the pain. Too bad whatever made my throat sore was too deep for the spray to reach all the way..oh well, it was a good excuse to drink plenty of hot tea and spoonfuls of honey. My throat's better now, but my voice is a little hoarse.
Now onto the big news--I'm seriously considering changing my major, in fact, right now I'm 92% that I will. I'll be changing it to a major in Design, Textiles, and Marketing probably with a minor of some-sort. Why the change? That's the question I've been asking myself for the last couple of weeks, to make sure that I'm certain in the decision I make. The simplest answer has to be that I'm not happy as I think I could be in another major. I can do the work as a Health Science major, but I recently admitted to myself that I have no passion or drive to do as well as I could. Truth be told, I've actually been toying around with changing my major for a while now, telling myself that once I get into medical school that I'd find my passion there once they start teaching us all the interesting stuff. But it took me a trip to the other side of the world to find out that I was lying to myself. Maybe that's a bit harsh, but it is what it is. I find the world of fashion more interesting than learning how the body functions.
Maybe I should have just looked at my interests from stumbleupon and chosen a major from that.

Haha, I think Stumbleupon is an excellent way to choose a major. :)
I support you, Grandbaby! Do what you love!

Lol, pre-med used to comprise the biggest part of us... and now we're down to, what, Jill and Amy? :P
I hope you get un-hoarse soon, and good luck with your major change!

=) I think a new major like that would suit you... I'll be honest, although it seems so strange now and it wasn't that big of a jump, adding on my 2nd major in CS was the best major decision I ever made- especially as it will be my future career. However, before entering college, it was just a hobby/fun class in high school (even though I'm such a computer nerd lol).
Keep thinking about it, and I hope that whatever your major is, you'll be happy in it & love learning about it. =)
