Almost Plain Ole Tuesday

3/6/2012

Hello from Question Tuesday! You may not think it’s necessary to say that, but Question Tuesday almost didn’t happen this week! If not for dearest Anna Beth, I would have had no questions to answer this Tuesday, which would have been awful! Seriously, think about it. What is Question Tuesday without questions? It’s just… Tuesday. Plain ole Tuesday. And what’s the fun in plain ole Tuesday?

K, Question Tuesday rant over. My week has been fine, if a bit crazy. I had to miss both fencing practices last week due to illness/homework. But I’m feeling much better now, and I got everything done on time! And now it’s Spring Break!!! Yay!!!! I’m not doing anything really fun or interesting this week, just sleeping in and working on the homework that nearly all my teachers decided I needed, but after the insanity that was the last month and a half, I’m ok with that. Hopefully I can use this week to get ahead with school stuff so as to survive the remaining 8 weeks of the semester. You know, assuming my procrastinative nature doesn’t get in the way…

And speaking of which, guess what I’ve been using to procrastinate so far? Sherlock! I’ve finally had time to watch the series over the past few days, and it’s epic! Unfortunately, the last of the 6 episodes ends on a GIANT CLIFFHANGER. You guys know how I hate cliffhangers and ambiguous endings! I can’t tell you what said cliffhanger is, since most of you haven’t seen it, but just know that it’s been driving me insane for the last 24 hours. On the bright side, the mystery will be resolved, as a third series has been commissioned, and they might even be filming already (that came from Wikipedia, so it could quite probably be wrong, but I’m choosing to be optimistic right now). The downside to said upside is that new episodes won’t be out until 2013 at the earliest, so I have at least 10 months of speculation and anticipation ahead of me. *sigh*

On a less fictional note, I found out last Wednesday that I didn’t get hired by WinShape. But it’s ok! It just means I have to keep looking to figure out where God wants me this summer. I’m not really sure where to start looking though, so, if you have any helpful suggestions or ideas, I would really appreciate it. Anyway, I think that’s all I gots to say. On to the Question Tuesday questions that have been most happily supplied by dearest Anna Beth (she’s my favorite right now, by the way).

What should I be for the costume ball at Harlaxton?
A kitty! That would be purrfect, don’t you think? Kitties are adorable, and you love cats. You love every kind of cat!

When is the BCM spring dance? (I want to crash it if I'm back in time.)
Yeah… no idea. I hope you’re back in time for the BCM spring dance, but you’re asking the wrong girl. Sorry!

What scene are you most looking forward to in the Hunger Games movie and why? (Has everyone read the books? Again, don't want spoilers...)
I’m pretty sure a few of us still haven’t read the books, so if you fall into this category, kindly skip to the next question (or risk being SPOILED!). Anyway, I think the part I’m looking forward to most is… well, the whole movie really. I’m excited to get to see everything I read about and hoping they stayed pretty close to the movie (let’s at least not have another Eragon…). If I had to pick just one part, I’d say the arena is what I’m looking forward to the most. The action scenes are what make it, in my opinion, so worth actually seeing instead of just reading. I don’t especially want to see 22 people getting murdered, but the part where Katniss blows up the careers’ supplies sounds like it’s going to be worth seeing.

What other movie(s) coming out in 2012 are you looking forward to seeing?
Well, The Lorax just came out in theaters! I love Dr. Seuss! I’ll probably wait until it comes out on DVD to see it, but it looks pretty adorable :). I also want to see The Muppets. That came out in 2011, but I’m waiting for the DVD of that one too, and it looks pretty good (and it has Amy Adams! And Sheldon!).
I’m also really looking forward to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The book version was really cool, and I’m excited to see how they translate it to film. Plus Lincoln’s my favorite president! The Dark Knight Rises also looks pretty interesting, and since it’s the final movie of this Batman series, I’d say it’s a must-see.
K, this is slightly off topic, but I had to look at a list of movies coming out in 2012 to answer the question, and do you know what I found out? They’re making a Paranormal Activity 4!!! Seriously?! Wasn’t the first one enough? While we’re on the subject of movies I don’t want to see, apparently they’re also making The Great Gatsby. Even John Green couldn’t make me like that book…

How do you feel about 3D? (This is what you get when a film major asks the questions...all about movies! mwahahahaha!!!)
I don’t especially care for 3D. In my opinion, it’s just an excuse to charge extra to get into the theater, and as a poor college student, I am opposed. Besides, I feel like 2D is plenty. It looks real enough to me, and I see no reason why every single movie that comes out now needs to have a 3D option. Also, it gives my mom headaches. So I guess I’m a little biased.

If you could be a super hero, complete with an array of super powers, would you want to do it?
Well, the super powers would be pretty cool and all, but I have serious doubts about my qualifications as a potential super hero. I’m not exactly the most informed citizen, so I probably wouldn’t find out about situations requiring my help until significantly after the fact. Also I’m lazy and cowardly, not exactly adjectives most people want to describe their superheroes. So… no. I’d probably have to turn down that offer.

What's your favorite number?
7

What's your favorite fruit? What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten?
I love apples! And I tend not to eat strange things, so the strangest thing I’ve ever eaten is probably not very strange. Well, I like my eggs with ketchup. Most people look at me funny when I say that. So that’s probably the strangest thing I’ve ever eaten.

If you lived in the Capitol, what kind of weird body modifications/fashion would you have (and don't say "nothing")?
Bleh… Capitol fashion does not appeal to me. I guess if I had to do something, I’d just dye my hair sea green and turn my skin pink or something. That’s a nice color combo, don’t you think?

So that’s all for today! I’ll talk to you all later!

Love,

Sara

P.S. - Jealous of Anna Beth? Want a chance at being my favorite? Then submit Question Tuesday questions! The best question asker gets to be Sara’s favorite of the week! And I know you all want that so much! :P

P.P.S. – That sounded like a commercial… but I’m desperate! Support the cause! Be Anti-Plain Ole Tuesday!

For next time:
1. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Wait, has this already been a question?
Dang it. I really did have a question, but I forgot it...

2. If you had to relive one day over and over (like in the movie Groundhog Day), what day would it be?
3. Oh! I remembered my original question: Would you rather have a genie or a fairy godmother?

- Woot! Paranormal Activity 4! Come on guys, we should all see it whenever we're actually in the same location! Please! Scary movies are fun!
- I agree with dwain (at least in limited circumstances) fencing is fun and sara should stop skipping. If you're going to be procrastinating on your homework anyway (:P) why not procrastinate by stabbing people with us?
- why would I want to be your favorite? What are the perks?
- what's your all time favorite 90's cartoon?

-Even though we haven't seen 2 or 3?...
-I couldn't help it! There wasn't time! Though there should be no more skipping in the foreseeable future
- is that a Question, or just a question?
How's Fargo?

Also, it amuses me how you questioned the perks of submitting questions but gave me one anyway :P

Well, we'll just need to have a little scary movie marathon then :)
And just assume any question I ask is a Question Tuesday question. Might make things more interesting.
Fargo's good. You'll hear more about it Friday.
You should find it amusing since the act of me asking why I would want to be your favorite is itself a question Tuesday question

I can just picture the evil look on your face when you suggested a scary movie marathon...

Here's a question from my Practical Ethics class--you may have to read it a few times...
Is what is good good because God commands it, or does He command it because it is good?
I'll give you my answer after you answer it :)

Are we human because we gaze at the stars or do we gaze at the stars because we are human?

And, without looking, what movie is the above quote from?

I read that and instantly thought of Stardust, but then I didn't remember where it was in the movie, so I googled it...I doubted myself :/
